Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI), formed in 1926 by the merger of a number of British chemical companies, was for a long time the largest manufacturer in British industry. The archival legacy of such a large and widely-distributed business is complex. However, the archive of its Dyestuff Division, based in Manchester, has now found an appropriate home in the John Rylands Library.
