25 years of the Ballast Trust

The Ballast Trust is a charitable foundation that provides a rescue, sorting and cataloguing service for business archives with an emphasis on technical records such as shipbuilding, railway and engineering plans, drawings and photographs.

Oral History Conference 2013

Anyone interested in business history or archives should attend this years Oral History Society annual conference, which focuses on corporate oral histories. The conference, which takes place on 5th to 6th July at the University of Sussex, will explore the hidden histories of organisations, including private companies, public institutions, hospitals, universities, museums and charities.

Nescafé marks its 75th anniversary

Nescafé was launched in the United Kingdom in 1938, shortly after its release in Switzerland. 75 years on, 5,500 cups of the branded instant coffee are consumed every second worldwide.
