Diageo to expand archive facility

The UK-based global beverages producer Diageo plans to invest £1.5million in expanding and enhancing the company's global brand archive at Menstrie in Scotland.

On Saturday 10th January 1863, the Metropolitan Railway Company opened a sub-surface railway between Bishops Road, Paddington and Farringdon Street, a distance of 3 miles. This was the worlds first passenger underground railway. On the first day 30,000 passengers were carried, with £850 of fares paid.
